Jumanji Remake Scheduled For Xmas 2016

Scott Rosenberg (“Gone In Sixty Seconds,” “Con Air,” “Beautiful Girls”) has just been brought onboard to pen a rewrite of the upcoming “Jumanji” reboot at Sony Pictures.

Said to be more a re-imagination of the original Chris Van Allsburg book than a remake of the classic 1995 family film starring Robin Williams, the story will still deal with the concept of a board game that comes to life.

Matt Tolmach and Bill Teitler are producing the project which is a priority for the studio who wants in cinemas by Christmas Day next year. Jeff Pinkner, who recently worked with Rosenberg on CBS’ “Zoo” series,” will consult on the script.
