Julianne Moore Has A “Seventh Son”

Julianne Moore has been cast in the upcoming young adult novel adaptation “The Seventh Son” for Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures says Bloody Disgusting.

Based on Joseph Delaney’s children’s book series “The Wardstone Chronicles” (aka. “The Last Apprentice”), the story follows a teenage boy in training to be the apprentice of a ‘Spook’ (a fighter against evil magic) in the 1700’s. Trouble begins when he’s tricked into releasing the most sinister witch in the world.

Moore will play said witch, a character named Mother Malkin. Jeff Bridges was previously cast as the Spook John Gregory, while offers were originally out to Alex Pettyfer and Jennifer Lawrence for supporting roles with both now out of the running.

Sergei Bodrov (“Nomad,” “Mongol”) directs from a script by Max Borenstein and shooting kicks off September 13th in Vancouver.
