Following the massive critical success of “Chernobyl,” HBO and Sky are re-teaming for the six-part limited fantasy series “The Third Way”.
Set on a mysterious island off the coast of Britain, Law plays Sam who is a man who encounters the island’s secretive inhabitants and their strange rituals.
Fantasy and reality began to blur for Sam, triggering past traumas, and brings him into conflict with the islanders. Shooting will kick off in the U.K. in July and will air next year on Sky Atlantic in Europe and HBO in North America.
Dennis Kelly (“Utopia”), Plan B Entertainment and Punchdrunk International are producing. The series will be directed by BAFTA-winner Marc Munden (“National Treasure”) and will be produced by Adrian Sturges (“Chimerica”). Kit de Waal and Dean O’Loughlin are also writers for the series.
HBO and Sky have the “Catherine the Great” mini-series starring Helen Mirren coming later this year.
