Lana Condor, who made her film debut as Jubilee in “X-Men: Apocalypse” and will soon be seen in Peter Berg’s “Patriots Day,” has been cast in Robert Rodriguez and James Cameron’s manga adaptation “Alita: Battle Angel”.
The story is set in a 26th-century dystopian future and follows an amnesiac cyborg rescued from a scrap heap and who becomes a bounty hunter tracking down criminals. Rosa Salazar, Jackie Earle Haley, Eisa Gonzalez and Christoph Waltz star.
Condor will play Koyomi in the film, an orphaned teen with connections to several characters. Rodriguez is directing while Cameron and Jon Landau will produce the feature from a script by Cameron and Laeta Kalogridis. The film is currently targeting a July 20th 2018 release.
