Milla Jovovich has joined the cast of Michael Almereyda’s contemporary adaptation of Shakespeare’s “Cymbeline”.
Jovovich plays the Queen, wife to Ed Harris’ King Cymbeline. In the play, the Queen schemes to move her own son from a previous marriage onto the throne at the expense of the true romance between the orphan Posthumus (Penn Badgley) and the King’s daughter Imogen.
The film swaps out the royal setting for a “Sons of Anarchy”-esque mash-up of biker gangs and corrupt cops. Ethan Hawke also stars, though the key role of Imogen has yet to be cast.
