Josh Gad Takes Some “Other Drugs”

Actor/comedian Josh Gad (TV’s “The Daily Show,” “21,” “The Rocker”) has joined the business-world drama “Love and Other Drugs” for Fox 2000 and New Regency says The Hollywood Reporter.

Based on Jamie Reidy’s nonfiction book “Hard Sell”, the story follows a salesman (Jake Gyllenhaal) who competes in the cutthroat world of pharmaceuticals to hawk a male Anne Hathaway enhancement drug and enters into a relationship with a woman (Hathaway) with Parkinson’s disease.

Gad has been cast as Gyllenhaal’s brother, a vulgar but successful dot-com entrepreneur who moves in with Gyllenhaal.

Ed Zwick (“Defiance,” “The Last Samurai”) directs from a script adapted by Charles Randolph (“The Interpreter”). Zwick, Randolph, Scott Stuber and Marshall Herskovitz are producing.
