Filmmaker Tim Burton and actor Josh Brolin are teaming for a new film adaptation of Victor Hugo’s classic 1831 novel “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” at Warner Bros. Pictures reports Reuters.
The story follows Quasimodo, a deformed and hunchbacked bell-ringer of the Norte Dame cathedral who tragically falls in love with beautiful gypsy named Esmerelda. Kieran and Michele Mulroney (“Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows”) are adapting the script.
The project, still in the very early stages, would have Brolin starring in and producing. Burton’s commitment is dependent upon the outcome of the script.
