Josh Brolin Replaces Penn In “Cartel”

Josh Brolin is set to star in the Asger Leth-directed drama “Cartel” for Universal Pictures and Imagine Entertainment says Variety.

Brolin will play a man on a mission to protect his son after his wife is brutally murdered in the gritty world of Mexican drug cartels.

Brolin replaces Sean Penn who dropped out of the role in June. Shooting kicks off in January in Mexico City.

Peter Craig penned the script while Brian Grazer is producing.
