Jorge Lendeborg Jr. Is “Bumblebee” Male Lead

Following his debut in “The Land” and a small role in “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” actor Jorge Lendeborg Jr. is in talks to play the young male led opposite Hailee Steinfeld’s main character in the “Transformers” spin-off feature “Bumblebee” at Paramount Pictures.

Travis Knight (“Kubo and the Two Strings”) is directing the latest installment in the franchise which is described as a period piece set in the 1980s. Steinfeld will play a tomboy who also holds a job as a mechanic after school when she encounters the yellow and black striped Autobot.

The project is the first spinoff in a proposed Transformers Cinematic Universe that will include prequels and spin-offs, these allowing for a different tone and style than the signature Michael Bay bombast of the main series.

“Bumblebee” is slated for a June 8th 2018 release. Lendeborg Jr. will soon be seen in “Alita: Battle Angel” and “Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda”.
