Michael B. Jordan and Warner Bros. Pictures, as part of their new first-look deal signed last month, have picked up the film rights to Marlon James’ African fantasy novel “Black Leopard, Red Wolf” which was released this week.
The story is set in a fantastical Africa and sees a slave trader hire several mercenaries to find a kidnapped boy. The main character is a man named Tracker, and the tale features giants, necromancers, witches and shape-shifters.
Jordan will produce the adaptation through his Outlier Society production label. No writer has been hired to pen a script at this stage but James will serve as an executive producer.
