“Get Out” writer/director Jordan Peele and his Monkeypaw Productions company have signed a first-look TV deal at Amazon.
The news follows in the wake of two dramas set up at the streaming giant including the Nazi hunters drama “The Hunt” and the Lorena Bobbitt documentary series “Lorena”. Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon Studios, says in a statement:
“Jordan, Win Rosenfeld, and the Monkeypaw team represent the ideal creative collaboration as we continue to ramp up original, culturally relevant and riveting television. Our Lorena Bobbitt documentary and series order for ‘The Hunt’ represent just the start of what will be a prolific and exciting relationship with Monkeypaw.”
Peele is the latest high-profile creator to sign such a deal at a streaming service with Amazon luring “The Walking Dead” creator Robert Kirkman last year.
