Rashida Jones and Nick Offerman have signed on to voice the lead roles of Maggie and Wheedon Scott in the upcoming animated feature “White Fang” for Big Beach, Superprod and Bidibul Productions.
Based on Jack London’s classic 1906 novel, the story is set in the Yukon Territory in Canada and follows a wild wolf-dog hybrid named White Fang who becomes domesticated.
It serves as a companion novel to London’s “The Call of the Wild” which takes the opposite approach – about a domestic dog who is kidnapped and uses his instincts and his ancestry to survive in the wild. “White Fang” was previously adapted into a live-action film in 1991.
Oscar winner Alexandre Espirages will direct the project from a script by Dominique Monfery and Serge Frydman. Marc Turtletaub, Peter Saraf, Clement Calvet and Jeremie Fajner will produce.
