Jonathan Levine (“The Wackness,” “All the Boys Love Mandy Lane”) is set to direct “Legend”, a CBS Films adaptation of Marie Lu’s upcoming young adult futuristic book series says Heat Vision. The action is set in early 22nd century Los Angeles, a time when North America is split into two warring nations.
The story follows two Day and June, the former a Robin Hood figure and the nation’s most wanted criminal, the latter a teenage prodigy hired to hunt him down. The two are soon forced to work together when they come upon an impossible truth.
Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey (“Twilight”) are producing. Levine is currently in post on the cancer-themed comedy “50/50” and will shoot “Legend” once he completes work on the zombie love story “Warm Bodies” for Summit Entertainment.
