Despite the awkward failure of the “Jonah Hex” movie a few years ago, The CW’s upcoming “Arrow” and “The Flash” spin-off series “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” will include the iconic antihero western character.
EW reports that Hex, a legendary Civil War veteran-turned-bounty hunter with his own moral code and a horribly disfigured face, will first appear in the eleventh episode of the series with the option to recur. No word on who has been cast in the role at this point.
Executive producer Marc Guggenheim says: “Ever since we decided that Legends would involve time travel, we were eager to do a story set in the Old West. But if you’re going to do a story set in the DC Universe version of the Old West, you simply must include Jonah Hex in it. We’re thrilled about bringing another well known, beloved DC character to television.”
Josh Brolin previously played the character in the 2010 film, while Thomas Jane and Adam Baldwin have voiced the character in different animated projects. “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” debuts January 21st and two more promos for the series are online below.
