Filmmaker Jon Favreau certainly has plenty of experience with Marvel, having helmed the first two films in the “Iron Man” series, starring in all three and executive producing various Marvel Cinematic Universe films such as the upcoming “Avengers: Age of Ultron”.
Recently attending the BAFTA Los Angeles Jaguar Britannia Awards, Favreau heaped plenty of praise on Ultron’s writer/director Joss Whedon in an interview with independent.ie:
“With the Marvel movies, they’ll come together pretty quickly at the end because there is so many effects to them. But Joss Whedon really has a handle on the tone and the characters [that] I’m excited to see. The first Avengers movie was the hard part because [Whedon] had to pull them all together and now he just can have fun with them.
You know, you got the Hulkbuster suit in there, the Vision, and you’ve got all these great aspects of it that I think he’s really smart in what he’s exploring. And of course, Civil War is coming with Captain America, so anybody who reads comic books knows these are really great storylines.”
Access Hollywood also spoke with Favreau and asked about the early leak of the teaser trailer for the film two weeks ago:
“”Well, by the time I knew it happened, it had already been released officially. I remember back during Iron Man, footage snuck out from [San Diego] Comic-Con. I think what it shows is that there is tremendous enthusiasm for it, and fortunately it was ready to go out officially. You know, things don’t always happen the way you want them to in the information age, but I really love the reaction that the trailer got and I think it’s wonderful.”
