With the Simon Kinberg-directed “X-Men: Dark Phoenix” being readied for production in coming months, 20th Century Fox is locking down casting on a few roles.
This weekend came the rumor that Angelina Jolie was being sought for an unspecified major new female character in the project.
However, on the latest episode of Meet The Movie Press, trade reporter Jeff Sneider suggests that Jolie is far more likely to go for Bill Condon’s “Bride of Frankenstein” at Universal Pictures.
Instead, he indicates Jessica Chastain might be up for the role, suggesting a reunion of her and her “The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby” co-star James McAvoy.
I said on the podcast that I don't think she's going to do it. But… we may get a DISAPPEARANCE OF ELEANOR RIGBY reunion instead ;)

Onto slightly more reliable news, and “Jessica Jones” actor Wil Traval has indicated on Twitter that he’s been cast in the project but doesn’t go into any further detail. The film is slated for a November 2018 release.
