Johnson Offers New “Rampage” Story Details

Shooting began two weeks ago on the film adaptation of the classic arcade game “Rampage” with the film’s leading man Dwayne Johnson now arriving on the Atlanta, Georgia set.

As part of an Instagram post announcing his getting to work on the film, he revealed quite a bit more in the way of the film’s story details and confirmed WETA will be handling the VFX of the monsters.

Johnson says his character heads up an anti poaching unit out of Rwanda, while his best friend is a rare albino gorilla who – along with an alligator and a wolf -are infected with a serum.

All three animals grow at an unprecedented rate and go on a deadly rampage. Johnson then adds:

“When animals like you, they lick you. When they don’t like you, they kill you. I will hunt down the bad people who did this to my best friend. And when I find them, I will not lick them.”

Naomie Harris, Malin Akerman, Joe Manganiello, Jake Lacy, Marley Shelton, PJ Byrne, Jack Quaid, Matt Gerald, Breanne Hill, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan also star in the Brad Peyton-helmed film which opens April next year.
