Johnny Galecki is in talks to reprise his role as David Healy on the upcoming revival of “Roseanne” at ABC.
Galecki’s involvement had been the big question with the revival due to his commitments to CBS’ “The Big Bang Theory,” but it looks like a deal is underway – though not yet set.
Original stars Roseanne Barr, John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Sara Gilbert, Michael Fishman and Alicia Goranson have already confirmed that they will return.
ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey revealed the news about Galecki on Sunday at the Television Critics Association press tour. She also spoke about the tone of the series, saying it will be more akin to the early seasons of the show.
Dungey also confirms the show’s finale would not be ignored, but John Goodman’s Dan will be alive in the new series. Filming on the new episodes begins in October with the revival presently scheduled for midseason.
