Johnny Depp has reportedly signed on to the independent film adaptation of Randall Sullivan’s 2002 non-fiction novel “Labyrinth” at Good Films.
The story follows LAPD detective Russell Poole, a rising star in the force until he accused a fellow officer of involvement in the death of rapper Biggie Smalls (The Notorious BIG). Quitting the force, he became a private detective and also looked into the killing of Biggie’s rival Tupac.
Christian Contreras adapted the script which “The Infiltrator” helmer Brad Furman is set to direct. The project is set to be shopped at the Toronto International Film Festival which kicks off tomorrow.
