Johnny Depp Considers Bigelow’s “Frontier”

Johnny Depp is considering a role in Kathryn Bigelow’s upcoming project “Sleeping Dogs” (aka. “Triple Frontier”) according to Deadline New York.

The story centers around five men of varying age who all work in the Triple Frontier, the notorious border zone between Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil where the Igazu and Parana rivers converge and a haven for organized crime and terrorist funding activities.

On Tuesday it was reported that Tom Hanks could also star in the project. Depp is interested in co-starring with Hanks, but his commitment to shoot “Dark Shadows” in February clashes with this film which begins shooting around the same time. There’s hope however an arrangement will be made allowing Depp to shoot both projects simultaneously.

“The Hurt Locker” scribe Mark Boal has penned the script while Charles Roven, Alex Gartner and Steve Alexander are set to produce.
