John Ortiz Joins “Bumblebee” & “Peppermint”

John Ortiz (“Miami Vice,” “Kong: Skull Island”) has scored roles in both the “Transformers” spin-off “Bumblebee” at Paramount Pictures and and the revenge thriller “Peppermint” at Lakeshore Entertainment and STXfilms.

“Bumblebee” is set in 1987 in which the yellow Transformer is living in a junkyard where he is discovered and revived by Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld) who, on the cusp of turning eighteen, is trying to find her place in the world.

Christina Hodson penned the script while Travis Knight helms the film which opens December 21st 2018. Lorenzo Di Bonaventura, Michael Bay, and Steven Spielberg are producing.

“Peppermint” stars Jennifer Garner as a woman who, her after husband and daughter are gunned down in a drive-by, wakes up from a coma and spends years learning to become a lethal killing machine. Pierre Morel is attached to direct from a script by Chad St. John. Tom Rosenberg and Gary Lucchesi are producing.

Ortiz will next be seen in the Cloverfield film “God Particle,” the Keanu Reeves-led “Replicas,” and the Jon Hamm-led “Nostalgia”.
