John C. Reilly has joined the cast of of Roman Polanski’s next project “God Of Carnage” for SBS and Constantin Film reports Deadline.
An adaptation of Yasmina Reza’s recent Tony-winning play, the story follows two sets of parents living in Brooklyn who meet after their sons are involved in a schoolyard fight. The meeting goes disastrously wrong as each pair attacks the other’s parenting skills before turning on each other about problems in their own marriages.
Reilly replaces Matt Dillon who had previously been attached to play the role which James Gandolfini originated onstage. Jodie Foster stars as his wife, while Kate Winslet and Christoph Waltz play the other couple.
A three-month shoot kicks off in Paris in February.
