Scarlett Johansson has reportedly been offered a whopping $10 million to star in the live-action adaptation of “Ghost in the Shell” at DreamWorks.
“The Wolf of Wall Street” actress Margot Robbie was reportedly in talks last month to star in the adaptation of Masamune Shirow’s manga title which spawned numerous anime adaptations including the beloved 1995 “Ghost In The Shell” anime film.
Those talks have apparently fallen apart with Robbie now being lined up for David Ayer’s adaptation of the DC Comics title “Suicide Squad”. There’s no word yet if Johansson has plans to accept.
The story follows a member of a covert ops unit of the Japanese National Public Safety Commission that specializes in fighting technology-related crime.
The Rupert Sanders-directed adaptation will be based on a script by Bill Wheeler. Avi Arad, Steven Paul, and Mark Sourian are producing.
