Johansson Joins Waititi’s “Jojo Rabbit”

Scarlett Johansson is in final negotiations to star in the Taika Waititi-directed World War II film “Jojo Rabbit” for Fox Searchlight.

The story centers on a young German boy who finds out that his mother (Johansson) is hiding a Jewish girl in their home. The boy has yet to be cast.

Waititi, who has recently been filming the pilot for the “What We Do in the Shadows” TV series, penned the script and will produce alongside Carthew Neal and Chelsea Winstanley. Shooting begins this Spring.
