Scarlett Johansson and James D’Arcy are set to play Janet Leigh and Anthony Perkins respectively in “Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho” for Fox Searchlight and Montecito Picture Company reports Variety.
Sacha Gervasi helms the story which follows Hitchcock and his struggles during the filmmaking of the horror classic. Hopkins will play the iconic director and Helen Mirren will play his wife Alma.
John McLaughlin and Tom Thayer co-wrote the script while Ivan Reitman, Joe Medjuck and Tom Pollack will produce.
The project is drawing comparisons to “My Week With Marilyn,” with the Janet Leigh role potentially leading to awards consideration for Johansson.
