Filmmaker Joe Carnahan has dropped out of the long-in-development thriller “Motorcade” at DreamWorks Pictures. Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald are still onboard as producers.
The story follows a disgraced Secret Service agent who gets embroiled in a kidnapping attempt of the President of the United States as the Commander-in-Chief’s motorcade makes its way through Los Angeles.
Tom Cruise and Ryan Reynolds have circled the project in the past. Carnahan came onboard just over a year ago to reshape Billy Ray’s script into a vehicle for him to direct. DreamWorks is now in the process of hiring a new writer for the project.
