Fable Pictures (“Stan and Ollie”) have announced plans to turn the lives of sisters Joan and Jackie Collins into a six-part television series.
The series will look at the story of the sisters from a teenage bedroom in post-war London to the glitz and glamour of 1980s Beverly Hills. The Sony-owned production company has secured the rights to the sisters’ life stories and playwright Penelope Skinner (“Fresh Meat”) will pen the script.
Dame Joan Collins starred in a series of films before shooting to stardom as Alexis Carrington in super soap “Dynasty”. Sister, Jackie Collins OBE, has penned nearly three dozen salacious novels which have sold over 500 million copies. The latter died in 2015 from breast cancer.
No broadcaster is currently attached but Faye Ward, Caroline Harvey and Hannah Farrell will executive produce. Sony Pictures Television will distribute the series internationally.
