Jimmi Simpson On Potential “Westworld” Return

The first season of HBO’s engaging and challenging series adaptation of Michael Crichton’s “Westworld” was one of last year’s most talked about shows – leading to understandable anticipation for the second season despite it being a full year or so away.

One of the first season’s key cast members was Jimmi Simpson’s William, the young man who found himself and love with Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood), only for the final episode to spin that on its head. HIs storyline, amongst several others, seemed to be wrapped up with the season finale. Does that mean he’s bowing out of the second season? He tells CinemaBlend:

“So far, my involvement in [season 2] is unclear. If they have more for William, I would assume it would be a whole new kind of story. Because I feel like this story, the love affair [with Evan Rachel Wood’s character, Dolores], we know everything, we know what happens, we don’t have to belabor that point. But if they have a reason – I mean, it was the greatest set I’ve ever worked on. But we’re all speculating what season 2 will be, and I think it’ll be something that will blow our minds, to the degree that season 1 did. But I wouldn’t be surprised if William showed up season 3 or something.

The second season of “Westworld” is expected to hit in the first half of 2018.
