Jim Carrey is set to star in the heist-themed action-comedy “Loomis Fargo” for Relativity Media says THR.
Based on a real life 1997 theft in North Carolina, Carrey would play the ex-military leader of a band of Southern armored car guards who pull off a huge heist of $17 million.
“Up All Night” creator Emily Spivey penned the original draft of the script while numerous writers have taken turns on it including Danny McBride and Jody Hill.
Jared Hess (“Napoleon Dynamite”) is directing the project while Lorne Michaels and John Goldwin are producing. The budget is expected to hover around the $30 million range.
