Marvel Entertainment has announced that “Jessica Jones” and “Dexter” director S.J. Clarkson will helm the first two episodes of the upcoming eight-episode event series “Marvel’s The Defenders”.
Marvel’s Head of Television and Executive Producer Jeph Loeb says: “S.J.’s take on the material is outstanding. We loved her work on ‘Marvel’s Jessica Jones’ and couldn’t think of a more talented and accomplished person to helm the first two episodes of ‘Marvel’s The Defenders’.”
The event series stars Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, Mike Colter as Luke Cage, and Finn Jones as Danny Rand/Iron First. Also onboard are Simone Missick as Misty Knight, Sigourney Weaver as the villain, and rumors of Jon Bernthal’s The Punisher also popping up.
“Daredevil” showrunners Marco Ramirez and Doug Petrie serve as showrunners and executive producers along with Drew Goddard, Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory. “The Defenders” will premiere late 2017.
