Jesse Eisenberg popped up at the New Yorker Festival over the weekend where he briefly spoke to Vulture about his role as the villain Lex Luthor in Zack Snyder’s “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”.
As usual with these things, he can’t say much but he does say his performance will be very different to the previous screen interpretations: “So different … it has real psychological underpinnings, and this movie character feels like a real scary person.”
He confirms he read a bunch of comics in preparation for the role: “There is this trove of stuff about this guy. A lot of it’s repetitive, like he always winds up on the roof of his building giving some faux benevolent talk about how he’s going to change the city. It’s fun to take that campy cartoony stuff and try to put it into a real person and try to reconcile the two.”
“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” is slated to open March 25th 2016.
