Palmstar Media has optioned the film rights to Mary Doria Russell’s two books on gunslinger Doc Holliday with Jeremy Renner slated to star.
The novels, “Doc” and “Epitaph” chronicled the life and times of John Henry ‘Doc’ Holliday, the Atlanta dentist-turned-Wild West gunfighter who stood alongside Wyatt Earp in a famed gunfight at the O.K. Corral in the Arizona territory in 1881.
The likes of Kirk Douglas, Val Kilmer and Dennis Quaid have played him in previous films like “Tombstone” and “Wyatt Earp”. Renner, Kevin Frakes and Don Handfield will produce.
