“Dreamgirls” Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson is in final negotiations to join the cast of “Sex and the City: The Movie” for New Line Cinema reports the trades.
Hudson will play “Louise,” the assistant to Sarah Jessica Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw in the film based on the hit HBO comedy series. The movie revolves around the four main characters’ lives in Manhattan four years after the series ended.
The show’s four leads Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon, came aboard back in July, whilst more recently Chris Noth agreed to reprise his role as “Mr. Big.”
Former showrunner Michael Patrick King is writing and directing and shooting begins next Wednesday in New York.
