Emmy-winning actor Jeff Daniels has signed on to star in streaming service Hulu’s ten-episode 9/11 drama “The Looming Tower”.
Based on Lawrence Wright’s Pulitzer Prize-winning book, the story tracks the rising threat of Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda and examines how the rivalry between the CIA and FBI may have inadvertently set the stage for World Trade Center attacks.
Daniels plays John O’Neill, the determined, bull-headed chief of the New York FBI’s Counter-Terrorism unit. Michael Stuhlbarg, Bill Camp and Tahar Rahim also star.
Dan Futterman (“Foxcatcher,” “Capote) is writing the adaptation and executive producing the Legendary Television series alongside Oscar- and Emmy-winning director Alex Gibney (“Going Clear”). Wright will also exec produce the series.
