Disney and Lucasfilm have premiered the trailer for “Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order,” the upcoming new “Star Wars” game title from Electronic Arts and “Titanfall” and “Apex Legends” developer Respawn Entertainment.
Marking a departure from the two ‘Battlefront’ titles, and made in Unreal Engine 4, ‘Fallen Order’ is confirmed to be a single-player adventure story game with no multiplayer and no microtransactions or loot boxes either now or later. Those reveals have so far been met with an overwhelmingly positive response.
The story is said to follow the journey of a padawan, Cal Kestis, who survived after Order 66 given at the end of “Revenge of the Sith”. Cal is hiding from the Empire in plain sight but is forced to go on the run when he exposes his Force powers. Along the way, Cal will make new friends, like his mysterious companion Cere, as well as run into some familiar faces, all while being accompanied by his faithful droid BD-1.
Cal is being pursued by the Second Sister, one of the Empire’s elite Inquisitors, who seeks to hunt Cal down and extinguish this surviving Jedi with the help of the terrifying Purge Troopers, special Imperial forces trained to seek out Jedi and aid the Inquisitors in their dastardly work.
“Gotham” and “Shameless” star Cameron Monaghan takes on the role of Cal, lending his voice, motion capture performance and likeness to the character. “God of War 3” director Stig Asmussen is helming the game title which hits stores November 15th.
