Filmmaker Jean-Pierre Jeunet (“Amelie,” “Alien Resurrection”) has set up several projects as potential directing vehicles for himself says Variety.
Jeunet has scored the film rights to Reif Larsen’s debut novel “The Selected Works of T.S. Spivet” and Thomas H. Cook’s “Red Leaves”.
‘Spivet’ is likely his next project which he is currently writing with Guillaume Laurant and will be in English. The story follows a 12-year-old cartographer’s cross-country adventure from Montana to the Smithsonian Museum.
Jeunet’s Tapioca Films will produce “Red Leaves” with Eric Bromberg. The story centers around the crumbling life of a father of a 15-year old boy accused of kidnapping an 8-year old.
