Jaws Gets A Blu-Ray Restoration

Universal has confirmed that a digitally remastered and restored version of Steven Spielberg’s “Jaws” hits Blu-ray on August 14th according to Blu-ray.com. The film is in its original 2.39:1 original aspect ratio, while the disc contains a newly remastered 7.1 DTS-HD Master Audio track.

There’s also a boatload of extras including an all-new feature-length documentary entitled “The Shark is Still Working: The Impact & Legacy of Jaws” along with a previously released two-hour making of doco, featurettes, marketing materials, deleted scenes, outtakes and the trailer.

The studio has also done a 8.5-minute short video piece with several key people (including Spielberg himself) talking about the restoration process for the film.
