“Juno” and “Up in the Air” director Jason Reitman is set to perform rewrite work on the Steve Carrell-led comedy “Burt Wonderstone” at New Line says The Hollywood Reporter.
Set in the world of rival Las Vegas magicians, Carell plays a more traditional magic man who is dethroned by a younger, hipper illusionist and must then find a way to rediscover his love for magic.
Reitman is being paid for several weeks’ worth of work and is the first time he’s worked on a studio film he won’t direct. Chad Kultgen originated the script while John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein previously performed re-writes.
An actor is actively being sought for the role of the younger illusionist. Shooting aims to begin in the Fall.
