As part of Universal’s CinemaCon presentation, producer Frank Marshall came on stage to talk about Matt Damon’s return to his iconic spy role in “Jason Bourne” – the fifth film in the series and fourth to feature Damon who last played the role in 2007.
Car chase sequences are a staple of the series with each of the films boasting at least one major one on the streets of various cities from Paris to Moscow to New York City. Marshall says the new film will incorporate one set along the Las Vegas strip: “We are staging what I think is the best Bourne chase ever, so we have that to look forward to.”
Bits of footage screened from the film show “cars roaring past showgirls and right into a casino’s front door”. Another scene showed Julia Stiles reprising her role as CIA agent Nicky as the pair talk about their past. The film is slated to open July 29th.
