January Jones (“Mad Men”) has officially been cast as Emma Frost in Matthew Vaughn’s “X-Men: First Class” for 20th Century Fox according to Deadline New York.
Jones scored the role over Alice Eve who was previously offered the role but couldn’t come to a deal. Rosamund Pike was also previously rumoured to play Frost. The telepathic character, also known as the White Queen, started out as one of the X-Men’s most dangerous foes to one of its most central members.
Also announced today comes word that there will be some sort of flashbacks showing even younger versions of the characters as Bill Milner and Morgan Lily are set to play younger versions of Magneto and Mystique respectively. Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence play the adult versions of the roles for most of the film.
Finally today, Zoe Kravitz has joined the cast as Angel, a young mutant with fly-like wings.
The group joins the likes of James McAvoy, Caleb Landry Jones, Nicholas Hoult, Kevin Bacon, Edi Gathegi and Jason Flemyng who all star in the feature that is about to begin filming in the UK.
