Allison Janney has joined the cast of Tate Taylor’s ensemble film adaptation of Paula Hawkins’ best-selling novel “The Girl on the Train” for DreamWorks Pictures.
The story follows a woman (Emily Blunt) devastated by her recent divorce who spends her commute fantasizing about a seemingly perfect married couple who live in a house that her train passes every day.
Along the way, she becomes entangled in a mystery revolving around the couple. Janney will play a police detective in the film which also stars Rebecca Ferguson, Haley Bennett, Jared Leto and Justin Theroux.
Erin Cressida Wilson penned the script while Marc Platt and Jared LeBoff will produce. The film opens October 7th 2016.
