Famed TV chef Jamie Oliver has revealed that he once turned down a cameo in Peter Jackson’s “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy.
The Guardian reports that during a recording of his new Channel 4 series “Jamie and Jimmy’s Friday Night Feast,” Oliver revealed that Jackson had offered to fly him to New Zealand and give him a cameo as a Hobbit in “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King”.
It wasn’t a freebie though, Jackson made the offer in exchange for Oliver cooking for the filmmaker’s 50th birthday. Oliver turned down the offer because of prior work commitments.
Looking back on it, he says turning it down was “the worst thing that happened to me. I really wanted to do it, I would have got right into it as well, I would have taken the costume home and said ‘Jools, let’s make love!'”
