Jamie Bell and British TV director Julian Simpson are teaming to develop “Jumper,” a TV series adaptation of the 2008 film of the same name based on Steven Gould’s novel series.
The books follow a teenager with teleportation abilities who suddenly finds himself in the middle of an ancient war between those like him and their sworn annihilators.
Bell co-starred in the film and may be reprising his role for the series which is in development at Studio Canal, New Regency and Lionsgate.
The project isn’t to be confused with YouTube Red’s “Impulse,” a series adaptation of the third novel in the “Jumper” series which has the film’s director Doug Liman set to helm and executive produce. That project is still being developed by Universal Cable Productions.
