James Wan’s Atomic Monster production company will team with legendary Italian comics publisher Sergio Bonelli Editore to co-produce an English-language, ten-episode, live-action TV series adaptation of the cult horror comic “Dylan Dog”.
Tiziano Sclavi’s cult horror comic has sold more than 50 million copies worldwide and follows a British paranormal investigator who, with his sidekick and Marx impersonator Grouch, take on cases that usually involve monsters, ghosts, vampires, werewolves and zombies.
Bonelli Entertainment first announced plans for the series a year ago after obtaining back the rights to the property which had been at Hyde Park Entertainment who produced the 2011 film “Dylan Dog: Dead of Night” with Brandon Routh in the lead role.
The series is now actively looking for writers. This would mark Atomic Monster’s fourth comic book-inspired series following this year’s “Swamp Thing” and the currently in the works “The Magic Order” and “Usagi Yojimbo”.
