James Wan is set to direct the premiere episode of the reboot of “MacGyver” for CBS.
Wan, already an executive producer, had originally been set to direct the pilot, but had to back away from it because of his schedule. Now a window has opened up allowing the opportunity.
Having been picked up to series, CBS has decided to scrap the original pilot and shoot a new premiere episode. Lucas Till and George Eads are still onboard in lead roles, but otherwise an entirely new cast is joining them including “Rush Hour” actor Justin Hires.
Wan, who most recently helmed “The Conjuring 2,” is currently in prep to direct the “Aquaman” film for Warner Bros. Pictures.
