James Schamus To Direct “Indignation”

Former Focus Features head James Schamus will make his feature directorial debut on “Indignation” for Likely Story.

An adaptation of Philip Roth’s novel, the 1950s set story focuses on the son of a kosher butcher who struggles to adjust to life in an Ohio college. Added to that are solid doses of anti-Semitism and sexual repression.

Schamus and Anthony Bregman will produce the film which is set to shoot in New York next summer.
