With Bryan Singer’s “X-Men: Apocalypse” wrapping both the story and the contracts for much of its cast, it has been widely expected that those involved such as James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult won’t be returning for any future “X-Men” films.
Talk of that changed the other week when Lawrence, who had previously indicated reluctance to come back, seems to have changed her mind a bit saying that she’s “dying to come back” for further film or films.
Now her co-star McAvoy has also expressed interest in returning to his role at some point. Translated from French website Linternaute (via CB), McAvoy admitted straight up he’s game: “If they want me to, I’ll do more, yeah.” He also talked about Lawrence’s potential involvement:
“Yeah, I’ve heard… people have said she’s not into it, stuff like that. She’s always said to me that she would think about it. So yeah, that sounds great. I hope she does, because I love working with Jennifer. You know, we’ve been like an extended sort of family, in a weird way, for six or seven years now.”
Several “X-Men” spin-offs are on the way like a “Deadpool” sequel, a third and final “Wolverine” solo film, a “Gambit” film, and a “New Mutants” spin-off. The fate of the main series though remains unclear.
