James Gunn has revealed details of an ultra-violent thriller of his in the works – “The Belcoo Experiment” on his MySpace page.
The story “has to do with a group of 83 American expatriates who work in a building in Sao Paulo, Brazil. At the beginning of what is at first a regular, boring day, walls close up around the building, trapping them inside. A voice emits over the speaker system, forcing them through a series of murderous moral decisions.”
Gunn originally set it up with Gold Circle financing and Universal/Rogue distributing, him directing and much of his “Slither” crew reprising their behind-the-scenes roles. However Gunn says “I’m not sure it’s the next thing I’m going to do…a lot of things need to fall into place for the casting to be perfect, and I don’t want to do the film until that’s the case.”
