Jake Johnson To Co-Lead “Stumptown”

“New Girl,” “Spider-Man: In the Spider-Verse” and “Jurassic World” star Jake Johnson has scored the male lead role opposite star Cobie Smulders in ABC’s Fall drama series “Stumptown” based on the graphic novel series of the same name.

Smulders plays Dex Parios, a strong, assertive and sharp-witted Army veteran with a complicated love life, gambling debt and a brother to take care of in Portland.

Her military intelligence skills make her a great P.I., but her unapologetic style puts her in the firing line of hardcore criminals and not quite in alliance with the police.

Johnson will replace Mark Webber (“SMILF”) in the series-regular role of Dex’s best friend Grey McConnell, the pair have unresolved feelings that run deeper. Grey is a bar owner hiding a questionable past that comes back to bite him. Michael Ealy, Camryn Manheim and Adrian Martinez star.

Jason Richman (“Mercy Street”) serves as executive producer.
