Samuel L. Jackson is in early talks while both Brie Larson, Corey Hawkins and Tom Wilkinson have joined the cast of “Kong: Skull Island” for Legendary Pictures.
Jackson would take on the role that J.K. Simmons was originally slated to play before exiting due to scheduling. Michael Keaton also left the film due to scheduling and his role has yet to be cast, though John C. Reilly is said to be the favorite.
Wilkinson’s role is that of an unspecified leading part. Jordan Vogt-Roberts directs from a script by John Gatins and Max Borenstein. Filming aims to begin at the end of the year or early 2016 for a March 2017 release.
